Job Duties:

  • Engine dynamometer testing using iTest
  • Write & modify test patterns
  • Set & adjust interlocks/limits
  • Monitor testing & verify test integrity
  • Setup engines on cassette
  • Setup instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, blow-by meter, coolant & oil conditioners, etc.

    )

  • Build & Teardown Engines
  • User proper torque specs & procedures
  • Record/document break away torques
  • Part analysis & measurement
  • Layout parts for review & then prepare to ship to Japan
  • Create/Input Documentation
  • Write & Issue daily report e-mails
  • Engine dyno test logbook entries
  • Help write and/or update standard work procedure documents
  • Create/Maintain Excel spreadsheets for engine test data
  • Keep workspaces clean and organized
  • Perform any other duties as required
  • 2 year Automotive Technology Associates Degree or equivalent experience plus 2 years of automotive testing experience (engine dyno testing preferred)
  • Working knowledge of iTest (A&D Technology data acquisition and control system) or equivalent
  • Complete engine build experience
  • Understanding of spark and Fuel Calibration for SI engines
  • Understanding A/F, SAE Performance Correction factor, inlet temperature and barometric pressure interactions
  • Strong evaluation & problem solving skills
  • Strong visual & written & oral communication skills
  • Real working experience in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the MS Office suite
  • Detail & teamwork oriented with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work overtime and off-shift when required
  • Able to travel to Japan for learning/training as needed
  • Self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team with more experienced technicians
  • Intermediate level of fabrication and welding skills

AttendanceTypical work schedule is Monday through Friday with possible overtime2nd shift (afternoons) 3:00 pm - 11:30 pmRegular attendance and punctuality are critical, 100%Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of work days to cover weekend testing requirements.

Other Essential FunctionsMust complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, PMHV physical with pulmonary exam for a respirator and background check.Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to self or others.Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.Dependable personal transportation to work site is required.

Travel to and from customer s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects.This may involve airline travel.In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary.

When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
